Red Wine Stain, Alcoholic drink, Tea, Coffee, Liquid Food, or Urine?

When dealing with spills, do not over wet the area, take your time and be patient.

With liquids, blot up as much of the spill as possible - it is worth the effort.

With solids, scrape up any excess with a blunt knife.

Always test any cleaning solution in an inconspicuous area first. Dampen a piece of white kitchen paper with cleaning solution and press firmly in to the pile of the carpet / surface of the fabric for 5 minutes. You may want to weight it down with something rather than hold it. Look for any colour on the paper and check the item for texture change. If either can be seen DO NOT CLEAN - call us.

Use a detergent and vinegar solution made up of 1 teaspoon of gentle detergent for washing woolen clothes and one teaspoon of white (not malt!) vinegar in 1/2 pint of warm water.
Working from the edge of the spill towards the middle, a little at a time dampen with the cleaning solution and blot up with clean dry cloths. Do not rub. Do not over wet.

Finally dampen with 1 part white vinegar to 4 parts water in a spray bottle, blot up excess, place white kitchen towels 8 deep over the area and weight down. Leave overnight.

Repeat if neccesary.
